Web/App Update

We have today rolled out an update of the Ugly Mugs website and mobile apps.

We have not substantially changed Ugly Mugs. All the much-loved features remain.

The technology behind our apps has switched from Native to PWA (Progressive Web App). This reduces our development burden and means we now have a single codebase for cross-platform development. Going forward, this will make it easier for us to maintain Ugly Mugs.

New Ugly Mugs has a  redesigned interface and should deliver even faster performance.

As a result of this update, you can expect to be asked to reset your password.

If you are using our Apple or Google app you will be asked to download the latest version. However, you are not required to install our app via Apple or Google. Our new PWA (Progressive Web App) offers an app-like experience within a browser without installing an app.

The design of new Ugly Mugs is currently quite basic. This is a major software update and our current priority is making sure the application works well for all our members. A more attractive design and additional features will be incorporated in due course, but non-essential advancements will only be looked towards once we are sure all core functionality is working well for everybody.
